Walking and Cycling
This is the Outdoor Pursuits section of the website. Here you will find information on out door activities in the East Renfrewshire area.
Paths to get you to work, paths to shops, paths in parks, paths in the countryside, paths to health. The Council and its partners are trying to encourage people to drive less, be more active and enjoy their environment more by providing good quality networks of paths in East Renfrewshire.
It's a big task and one that's likely to take several years to achieve. Farmers and land owners need to be involved, communities consulted, money raised, paths built and new habits encouraged.
A crucial start has been made. A local outdoor access Forum has been set up to assist and advise the Council in this task, an access strategy has been written, detailed plans for path network are taking shape and important urban paths are being improved.
The Council has three officers in post to deal with access issues and to implement specific access projects. If you require advice on an outdoor access issue please contact the Outdoor Access Officer at the address detailed. If you have a specific enquiry relating to the Country Park or the Whitelee Access Network please contact the relevant project officer at the address detailed below.
