Countryside and farming

Approximately four-fifths of East Renfrewshire is classed as rural. The local countryside includes moorland and woodland, and provides an attractive setting for the nearby suburban area, small towns and settlements.

The villages of Eaglesham, Waterfoot, Uplawmoor and Neilston are all within rural East Renfrewshire.
