Planning Applications
The Development Control section at East Renfrewshire receives over 1,000 applications per year, with approximately 70% of them relating to householder applications.
In 2007/08 the section dealt with 66.9% of all applications within two months.
Our Service Standards
We will offer the opportunity to discuss your proposals with you and offer professional advice before you submit a planning application.
We will normally issue a decision on a householder planning application within eight weeks of receipt of a valid application.
We will inform you in writing of the reasons for the delay where an application is going to exceed the eight-week period.
We will make copies of current planning applications available for interested parties to view in local libraries as well as in the Council Headquarters, Eastwood Park and / or the Barrhead Office in Main Street, dependant upon the location of the application.
We will make available on the Council’s internet site a weekly list of valid planning applications received.
We will acknowledge all letters of representation relating to current planning applications and advise you of the outcome of the application as soon as it is determined. A copy of the report and a copy of the planning decision will be enclosed.
We will commence investigation of all complaints about unauthorised developments as quickly as possible and provide a detailed response to you within 15 days.
