Local and statutory development plans
The Development Plan for East Renfrewshire consists of:
The Glasgow and Clyde Valley Joint Structure Plan (GCVJSP) 2006 – Third Alteration; and
The Adopted East Renfrewshire Local Plan 2003
The East Renfrewshire Local Plan sets out our detailed policies and proposals for the use, development, protection and improvement of land. In addition, it provides the framework for the promotion of development opportunities, and the basis for the consideration of planning applications.
Glasgow and Clyde Valley Joint Structure Plan
The Glasgow and Clyde Valley Joint Structure Plan (GCVJSP) 2006 – Third Alteration was approved by Ministers on 25th April 2008. The Structure Plan establishes a vision for the region, and adds a regional dimension to national guidance. In doing so, it provides a spatial framework for other strategies in the region, including Local Plans. The Structure Plan and its associated documentation can be viewed on the Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan site.
Adopted East Renfrewshire Local Plan
Our Local Plan was formally adopted in November 2003. This document is currently under review and our finalised local plan for the next five years is undergoing a consulation period (see below).
Finalised Local Plan 2008
The period for making representation to the East Renfrewshire Finalised Local Plan has now finished.
If you have made a representation you will shortly receive an acknowledgement from the Council together with a summary of your comments and an indication of whether they are considered to be expressions of support, objection or general comment and whether any changes are being sought by you.
This information will form the basis of a report to Council early in 2009 which will detail the Council’s responses to representations received and any proposed changes to the Local Plan. If you have made representation you will be contacted after this time giving details of the Council’s response to your representation along with further information on the process for taking the plan through to formal adoption.
