If you are over the age of 60, you are entitled to receive a travel pass from your local council.

How can I apply for a Travel Pass?

You can get an application form from our Customer Services section at Council HQ, Eastwood Park, Giffnock or Council Offices, 211 Main Street, Barrhead. Alternatively, you can pick one up at your local post office or have one sent to you by phoning Customer Services on (0141) 577 3001.

What proof of identity do I require?

You need to produce two passport-sized photographs, plus proof of your age and residence, such as:

  • pension book or birth certificate

  • a Council Tax or a utility bill

When can I apply?

A Travel Pass can only be issued within four working days of your 60th birthday. Your application must not be made more than two weeks in advance of this date.

Please note: The person applying for the bus pass must attend in person.

How much does it cost?

The pass is issued free of charge.

What do I do if my pass is stolen or lost?

If you lose your pass we can issue a replacement immediately. A new application, proof of identity and photograph are required. If you find your pass in the meantime, please notify the office where you obtained the application form.
