Does your group offer advice and support? Then get involved with My Health!
We want to ensure that local people know about the large network of advice and support available in East Renfrewshire. That's why we’re encouraging all organisations in the area to sign up and list their details in the My Health website and directory
My Health takes in all of the things that contribute to well being - so whether you offer help with physical illness, mental health issues, money matters or learning, we'd like to hear from you. By creating an account with My Health you'll be able to add information about your organisation - and ensure that your details remain up-to-date.
Reach out to new clients
If you don’t already have a website, this is a great opportunity to get information about your organisation to a wider audience. Even if you are already online, My Health offers another route to your information as visitors to our website will be able to link directly to yours.
My Health can be reached directly from the East Renfrewshire Council (ERC) site and we expect many of ERCs 60,000 monthly visitors will find the way to our useful information on health and wellbeing.
How will your information be used?
Your information will appear on the My Health site and in the printed directory. Visitors to the My Health website will be able to access your organisation’s details in one of two ways:
- By searching in our support directory looking under topic (e.g. healthy eating, substance misuse, debt advice), area covered (e.g. Barrhead, Clarkston) or organisation name
- The My Health site is organised into distinct subjects e.g. arthritis, debt advice. Your information will sit alongside other local organisations who deal with the same issues, related activities, and links to relevant telephone helplines and other online information.
What will be displayed?
It's up to you how much information you give out, but generally we'd expect organsiation name, contact details, website address and the geographical area you cover. If your organisation only deals with a particular section of the community e.g. young people or asylum seekers you’ll be given the chance to specify this. There’s also space for you to provide additional details.
How to sign up
To list your details with My Health all you need to do is fill in this short online form. You'll be asked to create an account and to do this you simply need to provide a user name and an email address and we'll send you a password. This will allow you to manage your details and log back in to add any additional information about your service or to change contact details.
The log in facility will be available from May 1st 2008 onwards. In the meantime, keep a note of your password.
