Stopping Smoking

When you smoke, you’re always being told that it harms both your health and your pocket, yet this isn’t always enough to encourage you to quit. That’s because deciding to go smokefree is a big step. More than anything you need willpower, but it doesn’t hurt to have a little extra help.
Below you’ll find a list of local people and national organisations who can offer moral support and suggest ways to help you give up.
Support in the local area
- Your local GP will be able to help you formulate a stop smoking plan.
- Local pharmacies also now offer help with smoking cessation and may offer nicotine replacement patches on the NHS. Ask your local pharmacist for more details.
- Sign up for a smoking cessation course. You’ll also get excellent support from smoking cessation advisors Agnes and Terry.
Call Agnes Rowland (0141 577 8688) and Terry McEleny (0141 577 3564) for more details on smoking cessation courses near you. - For more clinics in and around the Glasgow and Paisley areas check the NHS Stop Smoking website.
