Your GP
Some doctors’ surgeries in East Renfrewshire offer Well Woman clinics, which means you may be seen by a female doctor or a female practice nurse.
If your surgery doesn’t have a dedicated clinic, your doctor can still advise you on all sexual health matters and you can request to be seen by a male or female doctor.
Your local pharmacist
Pharmacists can give you sexual health advice and many also provide a range of sexual health services, including pregnancy testing and emergency contraception. If your pharmacist doesn’t supply emergency contraception they will be able to direct you to one that does. In most cases emergency contraception from your pharmacist costs over £25.
