You’ll find links to the key organisations – both locally and online – that can advise you on a range of life matters, like jobs and careers, money, housing and leisure.
UPDATE is Scotlands national disability information service. They offer up-to-date advice on a range of subjects including equipment suppliers and accessible holidays.

Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP)
The CHCP is responsible for all health and social care services in East Renfrewshire.

East Renfrewshire Library and Information Services
Your local library is committed to providing equal access for all. They provide a range of services to help people who are blind and visually impaired, deaf and hearing impaired and people with Dyslexia.
Band F Barrhead & Neilston Disability Forum
BAND F provide day care provision offering activities, opportunities to socialise and excursions for people with a physical disability or impairment. The group programme also includes an extensive range of services, including chiropody, complementary therapies, massage and exercise. Transport is provided.

East Renfrewshire Council works in partnership with Stravaig E Consultants to support anyone with dyslexia and offer information to those interested in finding out more on the condition.

Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities
They help people with a learning disability, their family and friends to think about, plan for and take steps towards the life they want in their local community. They also work with the Council, community groups and others to break down barriers and build inclusive communities in East Renfrewshire.

Enable Scotland
Enable help children and adults with learning difficulties in Scotland. They provide various services, for example, the ‘best buddies’ scheme where you can meet new people. Their local office is situated in Barrhead.

Dial UK is an information network for disabled people. Advice can be obtained on holidays, equipment, welfare benefits and more.

Capability Scotland
One of Scotland’s largest charities offering a wide range of services, information and advice for children and adults with disabilities.
Sense Scotland
Sense Scotland help to inform and aid those who have communication support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning and physical disabilities. Activity ideas and factsheets are available.
The Site
Aimed at young adults in the UK, The Site covers a huge range of topics, including sex and relationships, work, study, drink and drugs and the law. Information for people with a disability is included across many of these issues.
