Private hire driver
Individuals who wish to drive an East Renfrewshire licensed private hire car will require to obtain a private hire driver’s licence. A private hire driver’s licence does not entitle the holder to drive East Renfrewshire licensed taxis.

Taxis can pick up passengers in the street or from taxi ranks within East Renfrewshire. If you drive a private hire car, your passengers must pre-book their journey - you cannot pick up passengers in the street.
