Hackney carriage (taxi)
The Council currently has no taxi licences available. In the event a licence becomes available, an advertisement will be placed in the local press inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to apply for the licence. This will be restricted to individuals who do not already hold a licence and may be subject to further requirements relative to the provision of a vehicle suitable for disabled passengers.
In the event a number of expressions of interest are received which meet the Council’s criteria, a draw will take place to select the successful applicant. That person will then be invited to submit an application for the licence which will be considered in the normal manner.
