East Renfrewshire licensing board
The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005
East Renfrewshire Licensing Board is constituted for the area of East Renfrewshire in terms of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976 and the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. The Board deals with the administration of liquor licensing and other statutory duties such as bookmaker’s permits, betting office licences, AWP permits and Bingo Licences. The Board is made up of five councillor members. Notices of Board Meetings will be posted on the Council's website.
However the administrative work of the Board including the grant of various temporary licences is undertaken on a daily basis under powers delegated to the Clerk and Depute Clerk of the Licensing Board.
All income received by the Board from the fees on licence applications is transferred to the Council and is used to administer the liquor licensing system. The Council has a duty to provide accommodation for the meetings of the Board and all necessary expenses in respect of the proceedings of the Board. All employees carrying out the Board’s responsibilities are appointed and employed by the Council.

East Renfrewshire Licensing Board uses the Council's Corporate complaints procedure. You should ask for a leaflet explaining the procedure or you can obtain a copy at the Council offices or on this website.
East Renfrewshire Licensing Board will always treat your complaint seriously and fairly and try to deal with the problem there and then. We try to respond to written complaints as soon as possible in line with the complaints procedure of the local authority.
Please remember that East Renfrewshire Licensing Board cannot look into complaints about decisions made by the Board.
