Special collections for large items

The Council operates a separate collection for the removal and disposal of bulky household goods such as mattresses, suites, beds and white goods. There is a £20 charge for this service based on two men working at each call for 15 minutes, with concessions available to those claiming their pension or benefits. Other work can be quoted for on request.

Please note that the following safety precautions are observed to ensure the wellbeing of the collection crews.

  • There are no sharp objects protruding from any black bags

  • All nails are removed from wood

  • No asbestos
