We have attempted to comply fully with web accessibility guidelines and Portal to the Past web site is fully  AA compliant (Priority 1,2).


Screen Readers

We are Browsealoud enabled. This software will read websites out to you and highlight words as they are read out.

Using Access Keys in your Browser

Browser : Internet Explorer 5+ (PC) - Hold down the ALT key, press the number of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER
Browser :  Internet Explorer 4 (PC) - Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Internet Explorer 5+ (Mac) - Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Internet Explorer 4.5 (Mac) - Access keys are not supported
Browser :  Netscape 6 and earlier (PC and Mac) - Access keys are not supported
Browser : Netscape 7 (PC) - Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Firefox, Mozilla (PC) - Hold down the ALT & SHIFT key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Firefox, Mozilla (Mac) - Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Safari and Omniweb (Mac) - Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
Browser : Opera - Hold down the Shift key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the number of the accesskey


Text size
This site also provides the option to change the text size to small, medium or large. . This can be over ridden quite easily by using the browser controls.
