Our new Corporate Statement entitled East Renfrewshire Council – working for you gives you a clear message about what we are trying to achieve over the next four years to improve your services and the local area, as well as how we want to go about our day-to-day business.  

Council Leader Jim Fletcher explains

‘Our new Corporate statement emphasizes how we want to continue to put you, the customer first, as we strive to continually improve the way we deliver services for the benefit of everyone living, working and travelling to and from East Renfrewshire.  As an organisation we are working hard to streamline the way we work, cutting out red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy.’

What’s in the Corporate Statement?

The statement sets out our vision over next four years:

  • We are working for you to improve and maintain an attractive, safe local environment, where everyone has the opportunity to benefit from an enhanced quality of life.

  • This vision is what all East Renfrewshire employees are working to achieve for the East Renfrewshire.

  • The statement also sets out some principles which will direct our employees in their day to day work.  

Our principles

We will

  • focus on outcomes for the customer;

  • provide simplified, cost effective services;

  • promote equality and sustainability;

  • be accountable; and

  • be open to change

We also state our eight key corporate objectives on what we want to achieve.  These include regenerating deprived areas; addressing health inequalities; tackling crime and anti-social behaviour; as well as promoting healthy lifestyles; the use of sustainable transport; improving the natural and built environment; ensuring children and young people reach their full potential and building on our position as one of the best council’s in Scotland, driving change, efficiency and innovation.

We will report back to you on how we are doing through our Council magazine, er and future performance reports.
