Community Sports Development

Our Community Sports Development Centres offer both children and adults the opportunity to participate in the following sports and activities:

  • Athletics

  • Badminton

  • Basketball

  • Cheerleading

  • Childs Play

  • Golf

  • Hockey

  • Jogging (Junior and Adult)

  • Kwik Cricket

  • Mini Tennis

  • Netball

  • Walking in Rouken Glen

The Community Sports Development programme works on a pathway basis with classes allowing participants to develop their potential in the most appropriate class depending on there ability and age (Figure 1).

Once a participant has joined and reached their full potential the next option is to join either a local sports club or participate in a match class offered by Sports Services. Our Match classes allow participants to be coached in match situations and offers the next stage to their development if a local club is not accessible.

However, it is entirely feasible for a participant to join at any level depending on experience, age and background in other sports/activities.
