Garden assistance
The garden assistance scheme provides help to maintain your garden. The assistance comprises of;
grass cutting, approximately once every 6 weeks, during April to September.
two hedge cuts per year.
Garden assistance is available to those who meet the following criteria;
The property is rated Council Tax Band D or less; and
you are a tenant of the Council or a Housing Association OR an owner/occupier; and
you are aged 65 years or over, with no-one between the ages of 17 and 65 living in the property who is physically able to maintain the garden; OR
you are aged 17 years or over and physically unable to maintain the garden AND have no-one between the ages of 17 and 65 living in the house who is able to maintain the garden.
Please note: If there is anyone between the ages of 17 and 65 living in the property, you will be required to produce a medical certificate for each of these people.

The following services are not provided under the garden assistance scheme;
Tending of your garden if there are health risks involved (e.g. dog fouling). Attention will only be given if the area is cleared.
Collection of fallen leaves.
Collection of litter or refuse from your garden.
Landscaping or renovation of your garden.
Tending or planting of flower beds, rockeries, vegetable gardens etc.
Cutting back, or pruning, of trees or shrubbery.
Administer weed killer to your garden.
