Crime prevention and community safety
Community safety means protecting the right to live in confidence and without fear for their own safety, or the safety of other people.
Crime and the fear of crime are a major concern of the residents of East Renfrewshire. Crime Prevention, including action against illegal drugs, is therefore an important way of dealing with these concerns.
Community safety however covers other issues- such as safety at work, road safety, fire safety, the availability of play areas and the prevention of anti-social behaviour.
