Community safety - emergencies and protection measures
Emergency Planning is a part of the Council’s Civil Contingencies Function. The Civil Contingencies Manager (CCM) prepares plans and develops emergency response procedures in conjunction with other Council Services, the Emergency Services, Utilities, Health Boards, Central Government Departments and Voluntary Agencies as well as liaising with the Scottish Government, neighbouring councils and any other group that could help in an emergency.
The CCM is also responsible for ensuring that council employees are involved in regular training and exercising of their roles and responsibilities during emergency response and recovery.
